An organic wine must meet a series of requirements that apply not only the production but also to the soil where the vineyard is grown, grapes and conservation. Some of those requirements are:

  • Fertilizers must be of vegetable or animal origin (marc, manure, compost, ...), never mineral fertilizer.
  • Wines must be made from organic raw material
  • There must be a control over the addition of sulphites, which is usually added in conventional winemaking to better preserve the wine (inhibits bacteria, molds, oxidation ...)
  • In addition, the best grape ripening time is usually chosen
